Megger MIT400/2 CAT IV Insulation Resistance Tester

The Megger MIT400/2 Insulation Tester (1004-731) is suitable for a wide range of applications - not only limited to electrical/industrial purposes, but commercial avionics testing, military land, marine and air communications, manufacture production line testing, electrostatic measurements, component testing and battery powered traction/lifting equipment tests as well.

Insulation resistance measurements can be conducted at 250V, 500V or 1000V using the MIT400/2, with ranges providing measurements up to 200GΩ. Continuity measurements can be carried out across a range of 0.01 to 999kΩ, with an auto null allowing a resistance of up to 10Ω to be zeroed prior to testing.

A live circuit detection inhibits both continuity and insulation resistance measurements from being conducted on energised circuits, protecting the instrument from potential damage.

Moreover, the instrument is CAT IV 600V safety approved whilst being ingress protected to IP54. Enclosed in a rubber housing the MIT400/2 is also shock-proof and offers excellent grip when hand held.

The Megger MIT4XX/2 models officially replace the special application insulation testers that were the MIT400, MIT410, MIT420 and MIT430. The main benefits of the new series include:

  • Over voltage limit of 2% - rather than the industry standard of 10-20%; ultimately reducing the chance of damage to circuits and components;
  • Variable test range (MIT420/2 and MIT430/2 only) – an exact and stable test voltage can be selected from between 10V and 1000V.
  • New redesigned carry case, back stand and 6 cell battery compartment with separate access to user-serviceable fuses.
