Clare Safecheck 8 - Hire & Rental Industry PAT Tester

The Clare Instruments SafeCheck 8 Hire & Rental Industry PAT Tester has been designed specifically to ensure that traceable test results can be stored for rental products when they are PAT tested inbetween hires. These test results are used to clearly demonstrate that a rental product supplied into the DIY or construction industry is electrically safe and functions correctly.  It is a basic requirement of the HSE under the Electricity at Work regulation that products are re-tested to the same standard as they are at the time of manufacture. The tests that must be performed are earth/ground bond, flash/hipot and a function test to check correct operation. This may include current consumption, continuity, polarity and leakage measurements.

Please note that the majority of in-service PAT testers cannot meet these test requirements, as they have their test output limited to less than 2.5 mA for leakage delivered under the flash/hipot test.  A large proportion of in-service PAT testers do not offer this mandatory flash/hipot test.

The Clare SafeCheck 8 can read power tool appliance asset or serial numbers via an optional barcode scanner and can then transfer this information onto an indelible tested pass/fail label via a Desk Test n Tag Printer.  Appliance or asset numbers may then be tracked through the Pat Guard PAT Testing software application.
