    C.Scope CXL4-D Datalogging Cable Avoidance Tool

    The C.Scope CXL4-D Datalogging Cable Avoidance Tool is ideal for use during construction, maintenance and utility projects. It can accurately locate underground cables and piping, thus preventing hazardous cable strikes when excavating.

    Four different measurement modes allow the C.Scope CXL4-D to act as a standalone instrument or in conjunction with an SGA4 or SGV4 signal generator. As a standalone instrument, power mode picks up on signals from live electric current and radio mode detects radio-type signals emitted by metal pipes and cables.

    In generator mode, the C.Scope CXL4-D can detect a 33kHz or 131kHz signal from a generator which greatly increases the accuracy and range of cable location. The 131kHz signal is especially suited for finding thin, short or unearthed cables. Additionally, AllScan mode can detect a wide range of signal frequencies that may lie outside the range of the other three modes. This all adds up to accurate, comprehensive cable location.

    Two further features help make the C.Scope CXL4-D easier to use and lessen the chance of user. Firstly, an audible AlarmZone™ alert warns the user of shallow cables/piping, thus lessening the chance of accidental contact. The trigger depth is user-adjustable. The swing alarm, on the other hand, alerts the user if he/she is swinging the locator too much and therefore affecting accuracy. Peak hold is an important feature which remembers where sthe signal is strongest, thus pinpointing the cable or pipe.

    Results are displayed on the C.Scope CXL4-D’s clear, backlit screen and saved to the internal memory which has room for roughly 12 months’ worth of readings with normal usage. Data transfer via USB then allows results to be downloaded to a PC where they can be analysed using free C.Scope PC Toolkit software.

    The sturdily-built C.Scope CXL4-D is perfect for use on challenging construction sites thanks to its IP65-rated weatherproof casing.
