Castle dBAir Class 1 Safety and Environmental Noise Monitoring System

The Castle dBAir Class 1 Safety and Environmental Noise Monitoring System is based around the advanced Castle GA141SE Sound Level Meter combined with several useful accessories allowing the user to make the most of its advanced capabilities in outdoor conditions. The meter is supplemented by a software licence, calibrator, barometer, weatherproof protection and a tripod.

The Castle dBAir GA141SE Sound Level Meter measures sound from 20dB to 140dB over two distinct but overlapping 95dB linear ranges with Class 1 level accuracy and a precision of 0.1dB. Frequency can be set at A, C or Z weighting with fast and slow response times between 10ms and 24h. Various measurement parameters can be assessed with the sound meter including environment related factors like percentile measurement and safety-related factors like personal dose, exposure points and ear protection calculation.

The 16GB internal memory of the Castle dBAir GA141SE allows it to store thousands of readings which can then be recalled to the screen in a digital or graphical format. Alternatively, they can be downloaded to a PC via USB or wirelessly transferred to the Castle Cloud online storage facility via the instrument’s Wi-Fi connectivity. A three-year licence for Castle Cloud software is included in the kit for five people each using a separate meter.

The Castle GA607 Class 1 Sound Level Calibrator is also included. This instrument provides a 94dB and 104dB tone at 1kHz in its 1/2” cavity which allows the user to check the sound meter at two separate points within its range. The GA690 electronic barometer measures atmospheric pressure from 0 to 1300mbar, thus allowing the user to compensate for different atmospheric conditions.

Weatherproof housing for the microphone protects it from the elements when the system is placed outside to monitor environmental noise. There is a weatherproof case to house the entire system whilst a 3m weatherproof microphone cable allows the microphone to be placed at the optimum position for monitoring. A 1.6m heavy-duty tripod serves to keep the microphone elevated.
