Castle dBAir Safety Managers’ System

The Castle dBAir Safety Managers’ System is a complete solution to ensure the safety of workers in terms of noise exposure. Excess noise can have damaging long-term effects on health so adequate monitoring is vital to ensuring the good health of employees and meeting regulations such as the Noise at Work Regulations 1989. The system uses the Class dBAir Safety Sound Level Meter as its main instrument and this is backed up by handy accessories including calibrator, Castle Cloud software licence, rubber casing and a carry case for entire system.

The Castle dBAir Sound Meter can measure sound between 20dB and 140dB over two separate 95dB linear ranges. The user can set the frequency weighting to A, C or Z and the response time can be adjusted between 10ms and 24h. Several measurement parameters can be assessed using the meter including Lspl, Leq, Lmax, peak and exposure points, thus allowing the user to perform risk assessments in accordance with statutory requirements. Depending on the user’s choice of kit, the meter can be supplied with a Class 1 or Class 2 microphone and with or without octave band analysis.

A large 16GB internal memory allows the Castle dBAir to store thousands of readings to its internal memory. Results can then be recalled to the screen in a graphical format, directly downloaded to a PC using the included cable, or wirelessly uploaded to the Castle Cloud online storage facility using the meter’s Wi-Fi connectivity. A three-year Castle Cloud pro account licence for five users is included which allows access to readings from anywhere in the world plus advanced reporting and analysing functions.

A sound level calibrator is included with all kits and allows the user to check the meter’s accuracy. Class 1 kits are supplied with a Castle GA607 Class 1 Calibrator which can produce two tones (94dB, 104dB) in its half-inch microphone cavity. Class 2 kits come with a Castle GA601 Class 2 Calibrator that produces a single 94dB tone. In order to compensate for atmospheric pressure, a Castle GA690 electronic barometer - which measures between 0 and 1300mbar - is included with Class 1 kits.

Protective rubber casing for the Castle dBAir Sound Meter helps it withstand the rigours of day-to-day use and all the components of the Safety Managers’ System are supplied in a single protective carry case.
