Castle GA116E SONUS Class 1 Environmental Datalogging Sound Level Meter

The Castle GA116E SONUS Class 1 Environmental Datalogging Sound Level Meter is a pocket-sized instrument specifically designed for environmental sound monitoring. It can measure sound between 20dB and 130dB over three separate ranges. Each range has linear operation over 70dB and the microphone boasts Class 1 level accuracy and precision readings down to 0.1dB.

The Castle GA116E’s particular sensitivity to low sound levels is perfect for measuring low-volume ambient noise and it has numerous measurement options such as Lp, Leq, Lmax, peak and LE plus percentile measurement over three percentiles, one of which is user adjustable. The simultaneous measurement function allows two different parameters to be measured concurrently.

There are options for A, C or Z frequency and peak weighting as well as the choice between slow, fast or impulse time weighting. Readings are shown in dB or Pa2h on the one-line digital display and operation is extremely easy thanks to the intuitive push buttons and menus, including a dedicated range button.

As a datalogging meter, the Castle GA116E can save up to 2100 readings to its internal flash memory which can then recalled to the screen. Results are downloadable to a PC via a USB cable when used in conjunction with the dBdataLITE noise analysis software included alongside the sound meter.

The Castle GA116E has tough plastic casing to help withstand the challenges of daily use and the battery provides roughly 12 hours’ continuous operation. It is an extremely compact and lightweight meter which allows the user to transport it easily around large industrial sites.
