Castle GA2006H Vexo Hand Arm Vibration Meter

The Castle GA2006H Vexo HARM Vibration Meter is an essential instrument for those regularly operating power tools as it measures vibration transferred through the hand and arm of the operator. Excess vibration within certain frequencies can cause serious health problems such as vibration white finger (also known as hand arm vibration syndrome) so it is vital that vibration levels are accurately monitored in order to safeguard the health of workers.

Vibration readings from handheld instruments are taken through an included triaxial accelerometer which allows measurement along the X, Y, and Z axes. The Castle GA2006H measures acceleration from 0.05m/s2 to 200m/s2 (0.005g to 20.4g) in its lower range and from 0.5m/s2 to 2000m/s2 (0.5g to 204g) in its higher range.

The Castle GA2006H can measure variables including RMS average (Arms), average exposure (Aeq), maximum (Amax), peak, vector sum and exposure points. A HARM filter limits readings to frequencies where vibration is not adequately absorbed by the skeleton or skin and therefore pose a potential risk to the user. A large dynamic range of 72dB allows continuous measurement even over widely fluctuating measurements and a low noise floor picks up on faint signals.

An internal flash memory has enough space for 992 separate readings and these can then be downloaded to a PC using the supplied USB cable and Vibdata LITE software. The colour display shows all readings clearly and dynamically and allows the user to recall previous measurements for comparison purposes. When combined with an exposure time reading taken with a tool timer, vibration data can be combined to work out HSE exposure points.

The Castle GA2006H comes supplied with triaxial accelerometer, mounting block and screws, battery pack, charger and carry case. The meter has a 10-hour battery life and complies to ISO 8041 : 2005 Human Response to Vibration.
