The Castle GA241SE dBAir Class 2 Safety and Environmental Sound Level Meter is an advanced, datalogging sound meter and dosemeter that is specifically designed for both environmental and safety applications. It is capable of measuring sound levels from 25dB to 140dB over two separate ranges with a maximum 95dB linear range. The Class 2 microphone can detect noises of frequencies between 12.5Hz and 16kHz and give readings down to 0.1dB. The low noise floor of 15dB is ideally suited to environmental monitoring.

As a dosemeter, the Castle GA241SE will measure variables such as Leq, Lmax, peak, exposure, and dose and even features dual-channel measurement for measuring two variables at once. Another useful safety-related feature is the calculation of appropriate ear protection for the noise level. The environmental monitoring capabilities of the meter include adjustable percentile measurement and adjustable interval measurements. Frequency weighting can be set at A, C, or Z and the user also has the choice of fast and slow response times.

The datalogging function of the Castle GA241SE saves readings to its 16GB internal memory which can they be recalled to the vibrant colour display. Multiple variables can be shown at any one time and the meter even offers the possibility of automatically uploading results to the Castle Cloud online storage facility, thereby creating an instant backup. Alternatively, the user can download directly to a PC via the supplied USB cable.

The Castle GA241SE is operated via intuitive menus and simple navigation buttons so it is surprisingly easy to use despite its advanced functionality. Weighing just 480g, the meter is easy to transport and benefits from sturdy plastic casing which helps withstand the bumps and scrapes of day-to-day use.
