Castle Noise Legislation Starter Pack

The Castle Noise Legislation Starter Pack contains everything an employer might need to comply to the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005, thus safeguarding employees’ health and wellbeing against excess noise exposure at work. The pack contains a noise level meter, personal noise dosemeter, and calibrator.

The Castle GA216I Integrating Sound Level Meter is a Class 2 instrument that can measure noise between 35dB and 140dB over three 65dB linear ranges. It detects sounds between 20Hz and 20kHz and allows the user to weight frequency to A or C. Various measurement parameters including Leq average level, LEpd personal exposure and Cpeak can be assessed using the Castle sound level meter.

In addition to the Castle GA216I, the pack also contains a Castle GA257B personal noise dosemeter. This measures sound across a single range from 75dB to 140dB with focus on the 20Hz to 8kHz range that is potentially most damaging to human hearing. Results are shown on the dosemeter’s one-line LCD display in a range of units whilst it can also calculated projected dose across an eight-hour period.

Alongside the Legislation Starter Pack’s two measurement instruments, there is also a Castle GA601 Class 2 sound level calibrator which produces a 94dB tone with a frequency of 1kHz. This enables the user to check each meter by inserting the microphone into the calibrator’s half-inch cavity before and after measurements.

Finally, the noise meter, dosemeter, and calibrator are all supplied in handy carry case alongside useful accessories like a wind muffler and pocket clip.
