  • Description

Castle SONUS Class 1 Weatherproof Sound System

The Castle SONUS Class 1 Weatherproof Sound System is a useful monitoring system for either purely environmental purposes or a combination of environmental and personal safety applications depending on the system option chosen by the user. A Castle SONUS Sound Level Meter, a calibrator, a barometer, weatherproof protection and a handy software package are included to form a comprehensive noise monitoring solution.

There is the choice of two different sound meters with the Castle SONUS Weatherproof System. Firstly, the Castle GA116L is suitable for both environmental and personal exposure monitoring thanks to a wide array of different measurement parameters including personal dose and percentile measurement. Secondly, the Castle GA116E is specifically designed for environmental monitoring and therefore has an extra-low noise floor in order to pick up on the smallest of sounds.

Each Class 1 sound level meter takes readings across three separate 70dB linear ranges with A, C or Z frequency weighting. They can also store up to 2100 readings within their internal memories which can then be recalled to the one-line digital display or downloaded to a computer via the included cable and software package. The dBdataPRO software also allows advanced analysis and reporting once result set is downloaded.

A Castle GA607 Class 1 Calibrator and GA690 electronic barometer are included in the system. The calibrator produces a 94dB and 104dB tone for ensuring accuracy in the accompanying sound meter whilst the barometer measures pressure from 0 to 1300mbar so the user can adjust for atmospheric conditions as per Class 1 regulations.

Various weatherproof accessories are included to keep the system safe in tough outdoor conditions. A kit case helps protect all the components whilst a weatherproof microphone cable allows the user to place the microphone up to three metres away from the SONUS meter. Weatherproof housing for the microphone prevents damaging rainwater ingress.

All items are supplied in a handy carry case and the battery life of each meter will last for roughly 170 hours of continuous operation, making the Castle SONUS Weatherproof System ideal for taking measurements over a continuous period.
