  • Description

Chauvin Arnoux CA6155 Multifunction Equipment Tester

The Chauvin Arnoux CA6155 Electrical Safety and Machinery Tester is a multifunction tester which is primarily designed for verifying if portable electrical equipment, machines and switchgear comply to EU regulations regarding electrical safety. This is done via an extensive range of tests with multiple options. Useful, customisable test sequences help the user to quickly check equipment according to standard or specific requirements.

Tests on the Chauvin Arnoux CA6155 are divided into three main sub-sections. There are switchgear tests according to IEC 61439, machinery testing according to IEC / EN 60204, and portable electrical equipment testing according to VDE 0701/0702 in addition to miscellaneous tests.

The tester can perform dielectric testing and functional tests include apparent power measurement from 0 to 4 kVA. Discharge time measurement is available and there is a useful power-cable polarity test as well as phase rotation. Frequency and voltage measurement are also possible.

Continuity testing can be carried out with a test current of 200mA or 10A and it is possible to perform insulation testing with voltages of 250V or 500V DC, thus measuring resistance up to 200MΩ. A timer improves accuracy on insulation tests by preventing distortion from transient current.

True RMS leakage current measurement is another important aspect of the Chauvin Arnoux CA6155. The user can choose between the substitution method or the differential method to measure up to 19.99mA or 9.99mA respectively. Contact leakage measurement is possible with an optional clamp that can also measure load current up to 25A.

A number of tests on RCDs can be performed with the Chauvin Arnoux CA6155. AC, A, and B-type RCDs - including on portable devices - can be tested and there are options for selective or general testing, step or pulse, and an auto-test function.

An important feature of the Chauvin Arnoux CA6155 is its ability to carry out loop and line impedance testing whilst calculating short-circuit currents. It is compatible with high-current Zs loops, non-RCD Zs loops, and Zi loops.

The wide range of tests on the Chauvin Arnoux CA6155 is enhanced by its large internal memory which can store up to 6000 measurements. These can be recalled to the bright, clear LCD display at any time or transferred to a PC via the supplied USB and RS232 cables and analysis software. Data can also be uploaded in the opposite direction to have historical information on hand on site. The intuitive interface makes the tester surprisingly easy to use and the operator also benefits from clearly labelled inputs and buttons.

With a full range of accessories and a 12-month warranty, the Chauvin Arnoux CA6155 is suitable for manufacturers, industrial maintenance professionals, after-sales service companies, certification organisations and professionals in technical education.
