The Chauvin Arnoux F405 True RMS Clamp Meter is a handy instrument that combines sophisticated measurement functions with simple practicality. The 48mm jaw can take current readings of between 0 and 1000A AC and 0 to 1500A DC. True Inrush measurement allows it to capture current spikes during motor start-up phases for a complete picture of current patterns. The meter can also measure AC/DC voltage, resistance and frequency whilst its AC+DC capability allows it to assess mixed AC/DC circuits. Continuity and diode testing is possible with the F405 and it can also give an indication of two-wire phase rotation.

In addition to this impressive measurement capacity, the Chauvin Arnoux F405 has other features which help perform in-depth analysis of target systems. Peak+/peak- capture and min/max recording track output fluctuations whilst THD and harmonics assessment helps quickly find the root cause of malfunctions. Relative and differential calculations also provide another valuable insight into any performance issues. Advanced display hold allows the user to look back at all aspects of a parameter under investigation, rather than simply freezing one value on screen.

With a strong plastic casing and IP54 ingress protection rating, the Chauvin Arnoux F405 is tough enough to withstand the knocks of daily use. Operation is very simple thanks to a grooved dial and straightforward push buttons, even when using just one hand, whilst a clear backlit display means that readings are visible in all light levels. The Chauvin Arnoux F405 is supplied with a range of useful accessories and is safety rated as Cat III 1000V and Cat IV 1000V. The instrument is covered by a three-year warranty.
