    Clare HAL LED Electrical Safety Tester - AC/DC Hipot and DC Insulation Tester

    The Clare HAL LED electrical safety tester is the latest addition to the successful Clare HAL range of products. It offers a superior resolution for power measurements, which is crucial for manufacturers testing low power devices such as light emitting diodes (LED’s). 

    Climate Change and LED’s

    With huge emphasis now placed on climate change, businesses are encouraged to invest in ‘greener alternatives’ in order to meet lower CO2 emission targets set by the EU. Ultimately, LED manufacturers can take advantage of choosing a multi-functional test solution, which provides power measurements of less than 1000W with a resolution of 200mW.

    This high-resolution measurement ensures that the functional test of an LED product is within acceptable limits, guaranteeing that the product exits the factory safe in the knowledge that it is as efficient as intended.

    By using the Clare HAL LED, manufacturers can complete end of production electrical tests whilst additionally being able to conduct full functionality testing of electrical equipment. It also enables users to meet the safety compliance requirements for standards like BS EN 60598, which covers the electrical safety of lighting equipment such as lamp holders, lights and fluorescent lights.

    The Clare HAL LED meets the requirements of national and international safety legislation, including the Low Voltage Directive (LVD), and provides the following testing abilities:

    • Earth bond (0.1A to 40A)
    • AC dielectric strength (0.1kV to 5kV)
    • DC dielectric strength (0.1kV to 6kV)
    • DC insulation resistance (0.1kV to 6kV)
    • ARC detection 
    • Leakage Current Measurement (0.10mA to 20.00mA)
    • High resolution load power (200mVA resolution)
    • Power factor

    Similar to the Clare HAL101, HAL102, HAL103 and HAL104, the HAL LED features a clear LCD display, presenting information in either numerical or analogue format. The internal memory allows for storage of up to 6,000 test results and up to 50 configurable test routines. Coupled with ‘Clare Safety E-Base’ software, the safety tester will comply with the rigorous demands of most ISO quality systems.

    Moreover, the HAL LED connects with a range of accessories, including bar code scanners and pass/fail label printers; accessories are are available to select from above.

    For rapid, multi product testing, the tester will integrate into automated manufacturing systems with selectable sensors and enclosure interlocks, or by full remote control using PCs and PLCs.

    EN50191 and CE Implications

    EN 50191 is a workplace safety standard that complements the product specific international technical CE standards under which all electrical and electronics products must be designed and manufactured.

    These technical standards relate to various electrical safety and performance factors ensuring electrical products are constructed in accordance with good engineering practice and will not pose a danger to users. Products must adhere to the requirements of all relevant product safety standards, if they are to meet the requirements to bear the CE mark.

    Examples include the Low Voltage and the Machinery Directive. The Clare HAL series are designed to help manufacturers fulfil these obligations, whilst maximising productivity. Clare testers have applications in the laboratory for design verification and type approval testing and on the production line for functional and safety testing, as well as quality control and audit.

    In all cases, the effective integration of the HAL LED with production line systems not only ensures vital regulatory compliance, but also significantly enhances productivity, product quality and litigation from electric shock.

With DPD/Interlink you will receive a 1 hour delivery window on the day of delivery via e-mail/text and a notification 15 minutes before arrival so you will not have to wait around all day. You can even manage your booking online and re-arrange delivery for another date or arrange the goods to be left with a neighbour of your choice.

    We also offer delivery options for goods required urgently on certain products, all which are sent by DPD/Interlink.
