  1. Chauvin Arnoux CA6415 Earth Clamp (Hire Only)

    The Chauvin Arnoux CA6415 Earth Clamp is an ideal instrument for measuring ground electrode resistance and leakage current thanks to its 32mm jaw clamp. The meter measures ground resistance from 0 to 1200Ω and there are seven different ranges to help ensure accuracy and precision. Leakage current can be measured from 0 to 29.9A via the jaw clamp and the user can start measuring simply by clamping on the conductor under test.

    Readings are displayed on the CA6415’s clear digital screen and the whole instrument is specially designed to be used with just one hand. There is also no need to disconnect the earth bar when measuring ground resistance so clamp is doubly easy to use. With high accuracy and good resolution, it is an excellent tool for assessing earthing systems on all sorts of installations.

  2. FTN01 Field Thermal Needle System (Hire Only)

    The FTN01 Field Thermal Needle System contains the necessary implements and instruments to accurately gauge the thermal resistivity of soil. A 1.5m lance can reach down to the typical depth of buried HV cables and heated pipes and has a TP09 non-steady-state probe (NSSP) at its tip which contains both a thermal sensor and a heating element. The lance negates the need to dig a large access hole and the NSSP uses heat stepping to measure thermal resistivity. Readings are shown on the handheld control and readout unit (CRU01).

    The entire system is battery powered and can be charged from a wall socket or car cigarette lighter. It is sturdy enough to withstand the rigours of regular testing in the field. The CRU01 automatically analyses measurement data to provide both an end result and the an indication of quality measurement. It is also possible to calibrate the system in the field using glycerol. Overall, the system is ideal for performing route surveying ahead of laying HV electricity cables and heated pipes.

    The Megger DET2/2 Earth Tester is designed to measure resistance on earthing systems to a ground electrode in order to verify that the earth system meets safety standards set by the appropriate bodies. The resistance measuring range goes from 0.01Ω to 19.99kΩ with accuracy of 0.5% and resolution of 0.001Ω via a test voltage of up to 50V. Coupled with a wide band of test frequencies, these capabilities make it suitable for testing large earthing systems on all kinds of installations.

    The Megger DET2/2 has a microprocessor which makes adjusting test voltages very easy and accurate. The menu-based interface is easy to use and there is an auto ranging function for ensuring that the resolution is always as high as possible. Advanced filtering means that the tester is capable of cancelling out background noise from the environment. The rechargeable battery lasts for roughly 5 hours and the tester is IP54 rated for dust and water resistance.

    A simple to use earth resistance tester capable of checking ground resistances between 0.01Ω to 2000Ω. Featuring a 25V or 50V output, the Megger DET3TC is suitable for a range of testing applications including earth rod tests, lightning system tests and general ground resistance checks. With an inbuilt electrical noise filter capable of rejecting noise of up to 40V, the DET3TC can provide accurate measurements, even in noisy environments such as substations and plant rooms.
