Extech 407730 Sound Level Meter
The Extech 407730 Sound Level Meter is a handheld noise meter that has a measuring range of 40dB to 130dB with accuracy of ±2dB and resolution of 0.1dB. The user has the choice of A or C weighting and the meter can capture sound between 300Hz and 8kHz. Results are displayed both digitally and dynamically in the form of an analogue bar chart which captures real-time sound readings as the meter can take a new measurement every 40ms. The user can also choose between fast and slow response times.
Suitable applications for the Extech 407730 include monitoring workplace noise levels, verifying audio and alarm systems, and checking new products against acceptable noise emission standards. The LCD screen clearly displays both the analogue and digital outputs and the meter also features max/min recording and max data hold for adding further depth to measurements. The sound level meter comes supplied with batteries and a wind muffler. The Extech 4-7730 can also be tripod mounted to imrpove the ease of use.
