The FLIR DM90 True RMS Digital Multimeter measures a wide range of parameters including voltage (1000V AC/DC), current, frequency (100kHz), resistance (50MΩ), capacitance (40mF), and temperature (-40˚C to 400˚C). It is also capable of executing diode and continuity testing whilst advanced measurement features include VFD motor drive voltage measurement and LoZ low impedance measurement which prevents ghost voltage readings. Measured via a type K thermocouple, temperature is ideal for HVAC applications and the multimeter can also be used to test flame sensors thanks to its µA resolution for current measurement.

Readings are displayed on the FLIR DM90’s backlit digital screen alongside an analogue bar graph which responds dynamically to changing values. The multimeter can show minimum, maximum and average values and it also has a peak hold function for both absolute minimum and maximum readings. Data hold will freeze the current reading on screen and the user can either select the range manually or rely on the auto-ranging function. There is also a built-in AC voltage detector that allows the user to check for live conductors before starting work.

The FLIR DM90 has a comfortable, ergonomic design that is very easy to use. The function can be selected using the clearly-labelled dial and other operation is carried out using the simple push buttons. Inbuilt torchlights can be used to illuminate the working area. The multimeter has an IP54 rating for splashing water and it can withstand a fall of up to 3m. It is safety-rated as Cat IV 600V, Cat III 1000V and has a 110-hour battery life. Test leads, crocodile clips and a type K thermocouple are included with the multimeter and it is covered by a limited lifetime warranty.
