"First Thermal Camera with Wi-Fi Connectivity"

  • Description

FLIR E40bx E-Series Thermal Imaging Camera

This product has now been discontinued. The nearest current equivalent is the FLIR E53 Thermal Imaging Camera.

The FLIR E40bx Thermal Camera brings high performance thermal imaging to the building sector. It retains simple point and shoot operation and an intuitive user interface, making thermal inspections a straightforward process. The 160 x 120 pixel resolution provides thermal images that clearly display building conditions, while the advanced MSX imaging feature adds even more texture and detail to these images, allowing quicker fault location.

With a low thermal sensitivity capable of detecting temperature differences as low as 0.045°C, the FLIR E40bx enables users to accurately diagnose anomalies including energy losses, air leaks, poor insulation, moisture, condensation, thermal bridges, electrical faults, defects with HVAC heating and cooling installations and even problems within solar cells and panels.

Once faults have been detected and captured by the E40bx these infrared images can be quickly transferred wirelessly to mobile devices including an Apple iPhone or iPad using built-in Bluetooth connectivity. Using the FLIR Viewer App (downloaded for free from the Apple Store) it is then possible to further analyse findings, manipulate images and create professional thermal inspection reports for clearly documenting conclusions.

Designed specifically with the building industry in mind, the FLIR E40bx thermal camera is equipped with extended measurement tools including dew point and insulation alarms, a digital camera and touch screen interface for comprehensive investigation and documentation of building diagnostics.

      160 x 120 pixel resolution
The FLIR E40 infrared camera image resolution is 160 x 120 pixels, allowing a range of valuable thermal information to be displayed to isolate faults.
      Wi-Fi Connectivity
Transfer images and data wirelessly to mobile devices (iPad or iPhone for example) for fast sharing and analysis of thermal reports.
Flir MeterLink technology allows data transfer from an Extech EX845 clampmeter and MO297 moisture meter onto the E40bx.
      Picture-in-Picture (PiP)
For overlying the infrared image on the visual image while retaining all thermal data.
      Multi Spectral Dynamic Imaging (MSX)
New feature that overlays a digital image onto thermal image and thus providing greater visual detail.
New automatic screen orientation lets you switch between landscape and portrait while keeping temperature measurements upright no matter which way you hold the camera.
      Measurement Modes
Including measurement spot, automatic hot/cold detection marker, isotherms and Delta T.
      High Sensitivity and Accuracy
An impressive accuracy of ±2% and a thermal sensitivity of 0.045°C
      Dew Point & Insulation Alarms
The Relative Humidity Alarm alerts you to the areas where there is a risk of condensation. An Insulation Alarm shows the insulation performance of the building.
      LCD Touchscreen
A large 3.5" LCD touchscreen puts thermal analytics at your fingertips.
      Thumbnail image gallery
An easy-to-access thumbnail image gallery helps you to quickly review and find your infrared images.
Text and voice annotations to images
Text comments can be made from a pre-defined list or using the touch screen. A Bluetooth headset can be used to make voice annotations.
      Laser Pointer and LED Light
To associate hot/cold spot in IR image with physical target in the field, an LED light ensures image quality from built-in 3 megapixel digital camera regardless of light level.
      Long Life Battery
Lithium-Ion battery (replaceable in the field) provides 4 hour continuous operation to keep up with a demanding on-site schedule.
      Copy to USB
Transfer images and measurement data directly from the E40bx to a USB stick.
