FLIR E95 Thermal Imaging Camera for Building

This product has been discontinued, it is replaced by the Teledyne FLIR E96 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera.

The FLIR E95 Thermal Imaging Camera for Building is the highest-spec camera in FLIR’s Exx range of thermal cameras for inspections of production plants and buildings. With a high-resolution 462 x 348 pixel thermal sensor, the FLIR E95 detects and renders temperatures from -20˚C to 1500˚C on an extremely vibrant colour touch screen. Differences of just 0.03˚C are visible on screen which means that problems such as air leaks, moisture patches and hot spots are quickly detected, thus helping to identify problems in plants before they impact production or safety. This is also very useful when performing inspections and audits on buildings. The time-lapse function of the FLIR E95 is also very helpful as it allows the situation to be assessed over 24 hours, therefore detecting intermittent faults.

Temperature can be measured at up to three spots on screen and the user has the choice of a range of colour palettes for further clarity. Furthermore, the FLIR E95 can measure the area of a moisture leak on the screen to give an immediate indication of its severity. The image on the 4” colour touch screen is made clearer by laser-assisted autofocus, although manual focus is also available, whilst MSX® image enhancement uses the integrated 5.0-megapixel digital camera to add perspective and detail to thermal images and videos.

Several user-adjustable and Isotherm alarms can be set to provide instant indication of problems which is extremely useful in noisy environments. The FLIR E95 has a maximum 42˚ field of view although more focussed inspections can be carried out with 14˚ and 24˚ lenses. The lens option can be selected above.

An 8GB removable SD card comes supplied as standard so there is memory space to store thousands of thermal images and videos alongside visible-light counterparts from the digital camera. These can be transferred to smart devices via wi-fi or USB where FLIR Thermal Studio Suite software and UltraMax™ can be used to enhance and report the findings. Communication with FLIR moisture meters is also possible via METERLINK®. Voice annotations can be added to files during filming so real-time observations are simple to add without interrupting inspections.

The FLIR E95 combines excellent measurement and visual capabilities with a sturdy design (including Dragontail™ glass) that will stand up to the bumps and knocks of regular use. It is simple to use thanks to intuitive menus and simple trigger operation whilst all necessary accessories come supplied as standard.

Thermal Imaging for Detecting Elevated Body Temperature

This camera includes an EBT screening mode.

While unable to detect a virus or infection, thermal imaging cameras can be used to detect Elevated Body Temperature. FLIR thermal cameras have been used in public spaces—such as airports, train terminals, businesses, factories, and concerts—as an effective tool to measure skin surface temperature and identify individuals with Elevated Body Temperature (EBT).

If the temperature of the skin in key areas (especially the corner of the eye and forehead) is above average temperature, then the individual may be selected for additional screening. Identifying individuals with EBT, who should then be further screened with virus-specific diagnostic tests, can help reduce or dramatically slow the spread of viruses and infections.

Using thermal cameras, officials can be more discrete, efficient, and effective in identifying individuals who need further screening with virus-specific tests. A variety of institutions, including transportation agencies, businesses, factories, and first responders are using thermal screening as an EBT detection method and as part of employee health and screening (EH&S).

Airports in particular are actively employing FLIR thermal cameras as part of their screening measures for passengers and flight crews. The screening procedures implemented at airports and in other public places are just the first step when it comes to detecting a possible infection: it’s a quick way to screen for anyone who might be sick, and must always be followed up with further screening before authorities decide to quarantine a person.
