FLIR E96 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera

The FLIR E96 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera is the pinnacle of the incredible FLIR Exx-Series, the first FLIR pistol-grip camera with a 640 x 480 thermal resolution plus FLIR UltraMax and MSX technology incorporated. Designed for quickly diagnosing electrical and mechanical failures while keeping the operator at a safe distance from potentially hazardous high-voltage targets. With a temperature range of up to 1500˚C and a thermal sensitivity/NETD of <30mK at 30˚C (86˚F), use the vibrant & easy-to-interpret captured images to accurately detect hot spots and hidden deficiencies invisible to the naked eye. For quickly & efficiently checking electrical or mechanical assets for signs of failure, the E96 comes complete with the option of interchangeable lenses. These FLIR AutoCal lenses featuring either a telephoto, standard, or wide-angle field of view are ideal for surveying hot spots, surveying roofs or building envelopes exceedingly quickly.

Handheld yet bursting with professional quality features, alongside the aforementioned UltraMax & MSX the FLIR E96 boasts a wealth of diagnostic tools. Find, fix and document issues rapidly with 6 colour palettes, 3 spotmeters, a FLIR-Screen EST mode and an Infrared Time Lapse feature ranging from 10 seconds to 24 hours. 3 area measurement boxes, area measurement information (m² or ft²) and focus modes such as continuous LDM, one-shot LDM, one-shot contrast and manual.

For improving image contrast the FLIR E96 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera utilises an incorporated FLIR 1-Touch Level/Span function, whilst precise autofocusing is accomplished via a built-in laser distance meter. Other features include a Picture-in-Picture mode, live Max/Min temperature display, a 5MP digital camera with an incorporated LED Photo/Video lamp and a continuous 1-8x digital zoom. The thermal imaging camera will add GPS tags automatically however voice annotations are added through either the built-in mic or Bluetooth feature.

METERLiNK enabled for compatibility with other relevant FLIR devices the 4" LCD display of the E96 comes with touchscreen capability and auto-rotation included. Incorporated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections are supported by a USB 2.0 port and DisplayPort. Within the removable 8GB SD memory card storage modes include Visual, MSX®, Picture-in-Picture, Gallery & an Infrared-only mode where JPEG files with all of the measurement data attached can be saved. The FLIR E96 is supplied with a rugged carrying case and cable set: USB 2.0 A to USB Type-C, USB Type-C to HDMI and USB Type-C to USB Type-C.

FLIR Thermal Studio & FLIR Inspection Route

The FLIR Exx-Series including the E96 all come equipped with the exclusive FLIR Inspection Route feature automatically enabled within the device. Starting in FLIR Thermal Studio (with the Route Creator Plugin installed), create an inspection route designed to pass through numerous locations, collecting and organising data with images without pause. Export the route to the FLIR E96 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera for streamlined inspections, swift post-processing and rapid reporting.

Offered in three versions - Starter, Standard, and Pro - the FLIR Thermal Studio Suite is fully compatible with all cameras which generate images in radiometric JPG format. This state-of-the-art analysis & reporting software is designed for use with the Exx-Series, assisting in managing thousands of images and videos. Build a route which maximises efficiency, including as many inspection targets as needed within the FLIR Thermal Studio with the plugin installed.

Ideal for batch processing and ensuring there is no wasted time during inspections, Thermographers can download user-created routes to the FLIR E96 camera and follow these guides to efficiently inspect large facilities over a day. This structured operating procedure aids in seamlessly organising & importing relevant information back to the FLIR software for further analysis. Use this software for optimum organisation and maximum efficiency.

FLIR AutoCal™ Interchangeable Lenses

The FLIR E76, E86, and E96 Thermal Imaging Cameras are compatible with all FLIR interchangeable AutoCal lenses. Capable of automatically recognising a new lens, there is no need for servicing as once a new lens has been installed the device will run an auto-calibration program. There are several different lens options available:

  • 14°, 29mm Telephoto lens: Includes a narrow field of view for precise focus & crisp imaging of distant targets.
  • 24°, 17mm Standard lens: Featuring a 24° × 18° field of view which allows users to remain a safe distance from potentially hazardous equipment while still capturing sharp details on smaller targets.
  • 42°, 10mm Wide-Angle lens: With the largest field of view for imaging buildings, roofs, or other areas where gathering the most information in a single image is crucial.

The FLIR E96 is available in seven different models as detailed in the table below, choose the right option for you from the drop-down menu.

FLIR MSX Technology

Available exclusively with FLIR products, the MSX feature within the E96 incorporates visual detail and embosses it directly over the full thermal image for greatly enhanced detail and perspective. The crisp, vibrant imagery produced by FLIR's patented Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging (MSX) technology provides a clear advantage when attempting to identify the issue and context of a thermal problem. With this feature enabled format components becomes clear enough that even a label is readable within the captured thermal image.
