FLIR MR160 Moisture Meter Pro Kit

The FLIR MR160 Pro Kit contains a sophisticated and useful FLIR MR160 Thermal Imaging Moisture Meter alongside a versatile FLIR MR08 Hammer Probe and MR02 pin probe. The kit is ideal for performing quick scans for moisture-related issues such as leaks and dampness, before measuring relative moisture levels to gain a more detailed picture of moisture conditions.

The FLIR MR160 Thermal Imaging Moisture Meter is a clever combination of a thermal imager and a regular moisture meter. It is capable of measuring moisture content in wood, building materials and other substances. It has a pinless internal sensor capable of taking non-destructive measurements according to a pre-set reference range as well as working with various destructive probes to gain more accurate readings.

The standout feature of the FLIR MR160 is its thermal imaging capability. It has an 80 x 60 pixel thermal sensor that measures surface temperature through infrared sensitivity. The wide 51° x 38° field of view allows the user to quickly scan an area for telltale signs of problems like dampness and leaks. The user can record thermal images together with moisture content readings to the meter's internal memory and even download these to a PC for subsequent reporting and analysis.

The FLIR MR02 Pin Probe is the standard probe included with the FLIR MR160. Its twin pins are capable of penetrating wood types 1 to 9 and building material types 10 and 11 to measure moisture content from 7% to 100% (wood) and 0% to 20% (building materials).

The FLIR MR08, meanwhile, is a hammer probe designed to take moisture content readings during hammer and wall cavity applications. It is compatible with 2", 4" or 6" pins and has an additional handle which allows the user to angle the pins more easily. The bottom handle will detach to become a wall cavity probe and an impact plate can be used to hammer the pins into drywall.
