The FLIR Scout II 640 Wildlife Thermal Camera is a lightweight, portable thermal imager designed for use in the outdoor leisure, agricultural and hunting sectors. It allows the user to spot the heat patterns of animals, humans and motors in poor visibility over a distance range of 1139m. The 640 x 512 pixel thermal sensor in the camera offers a high-resolution image of the surroundings and the 18˚ lens is ideal for viewing over long distances. Thermal sensitivity is just <50mK so temperature differences of just 0.05˚C can be shown on screen.

Thermal images are shown to the user via the 640 x 480 pixel LCD display built into the camera’s eyepiece. The fixed focus makes sure that the image is always clear and the user has the choice of greyscale or InstAlert™ which highlights warm objects in red. The FLIR Scout II 640 has a 2x and 4x zoom function for getting a closer look at heat patterns over large distances.

The FLIR Scout II 640 has numerous practical features that perfectly complement its imaging capabilities. Firstly, the one-handed operation makes the camera easy to use outdoors and the IP67 ingress protection rating certifies that the camera is resistant to both dust and water damage, even when fully submerged. The battery life is greater than 5 hours and the imager has been drop-tested from a height of one metre.

Supplied accessories include a USB charger, wrist strap, USB cable, quick start guide, and molle bag and the low weight (340g) and small dimensions (6.7” x 2.31” x 2.44”) make the FLIR Scout II 640 easy to carry and store outdoors. A 2-10 warranty covers the camera for two years and a decade for the thermal sensor.
