FLIR T530 Professional Thermal Imaging Camera

With an enormous measurement range, high resolution and excellent thermal sensitivity, the FLIR T530 Professional Thermal Imaging Camera is a highly advanced thermal imaging device designed for use across the power generation, electrical distribution and manufacturing sectors. The 320 x 240 pixel thermal sensor provides very clear thermal images and video on temperatures from -20˚C to 650˚C (an optional calibration of 300˚C to 1200˚C is also available) whilst <30mK sensitivity allows temperature differences of just 0.03˚C to be shown on screen.

The principal physical feature of the FLIR T530 is its auto-rotating optical block which swivels through 180˚, thus allowing the user to easily take thermographs and thermal video from above or below the target, perfect for performing inspections in tricky conditions. A range of colour palettes on the vibrant 4” touch screen gives great flexibility whilst MSX® image enhancement can add detail from the in-built digital camera to a thermal image for greater clarity. Time-lapse infrared imaging is another useful feature which allows the user to capture intermittent issues over 24 hours.

1-4x digital zoom allows the user to focus in on temperature discrepancies and, once files are downloaded, UltraMax® can be used to further enhance image quality as part of FLIR Vision Processing™. Laser-assisted autofocus ensures the user always has a clear picture and the FLIR T530 also has spot measurement and hot/cold spots. Furthermore, the distance to faulty components can be measured using the camera’s lasers so the user immediately knows the accessibility of an area needing repair. Area can also be measured through the same mechanism to assess the extent of an irregular pattern.

METERLiNK® connectivity with Bluetooth-enabled FLIR clamps and multimeters allows quantitive data to be shown on screen and saved to the FLIR T530’s memory. Despite its feature-rich nature, the FLIR T530 is intuitive and straightforward in its operation thanks to clever menus and a responsive touch screen and the user can make his/her observations through voice and text annotations. Files are saved to the supplied 8GB SD card and images and video can be saved with a GPS tag and time-and-date stamp. Data transfer can be undertaken via USB cable, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi which also permits live video streaming. Radiometric and non-radiometric IR videos can be filmed with the camera.

The FLIR T530 has an interchangeable AutoCal™ lens system which allows the user to share lenses across his/her fleet of cameras, thereby saving money and offering excellent flexibility. The camera comes with a 24˚ or 42˚ lens or, at a higher price, with a combination of those plus a 14˚ lens. A full range of accessories is supplied with the camera including a USB cable, an SD card and a transport case whilst FLIR’s industry-leading 2-10 warranty covers the camera and its accessories.

FlexView Dual FOV 14 - 24˚ Lens

The FlexView Dual FOV 14 - 24˚ Lens is a single lens that offers both 14˚ and 24˚ FOVs, replacing the need to change between two physical camera lens to achieve each FOV. The FlexiView lens allows for FOV switching with the push of a button and a 1-second FOV toggle time, providing an efficient inspection experience and reducing the physical load for those in the field. This innovative lens retains the sleek design of other FLIR lenses, with an increased length of just 6mm. Performance in both FOVs is retained, offering full radiometric performance and image qual

Thermal Imaging for Detecting Elevated Body Temperature

This camera includes an EBT screening mode.

While unable to detect a virus or infection, thermal imaging cameras can be used to detect Elevated Body Temperature. FLIR thermal cameras have been used in public spaces—such as airports, train terminals, businesses, factories, and concerts—as an effective tool to measure skin surface temperature and identify individuals with Elevated Body Temperature (EBT).

If the temperature of the skin in key areas (especially the corner of the eye and forehead) is above average temperature, then the individual may be selected for additional screening. Identifying individuals with EBT, who should then be further screened with virus-specific diagnostic tests, can help reduce or dramatically slow the spread of viruses and infections.

Using thermal cameras, officials can be more discrete, efficient, and effective in identifying individuals who need further screening with virus-specific tests. A variety of institutions, including transportation agencies, businesses, factories, and first responders are using thermal screening as an EBT detection method and as part of employee health and screening (EH&S).

Airports in particular are actively employing FLIR thermal cameras as part of their screening measures for passengers and flight crews. The screening procedures implemented at airports and in other public places are just the first step when it comes to detecting a possible infection: it’s a quick way to screen for anyone who might be sick, and must always be followed up with further screening before authorities decide to quarantine a person.
