The FLIR VT8-600 Electrical Tester is a versatile instrument capable of measuring current, voltage, resistance (60MΩ), and capacitance (6000µF). The AC/DC current range goes from 0 to 100A with an accuracy of ±2.5% and a resolution of 0.1A whilst the AC/DC voltage range goes from 0 to 600V with ±1.5% and a resolution of 0.1V. It is also capable of performing a continuity check and AC readings benefit from TRMS.

Current measurements are taken via the FLIR VT8-600’s 15.5mm fixed jaw clamp, which is particularly useful for large cables or tight spaces. Furthermore, the tester has non-contact voltage detection that helps the user make sure that installations are not live during inspections.

Multiple practical features make the FLIR VT8-600 very easy to use. Alongside the jaw, there is storage for the test leads, one-handed dial operation and an integrated torch. Readings are displayed on the backlit LCD screen which boasts DCA zero, relative mode and data hold.

The FLIR VT8-600 is extremely sturdy - having been drop tested to 2m - and has a Cat IV 300V Cat III 600V safety rating. It is covered by a three-year warranty and comes supplied with test leads and batteries.
