Fluke 1663 Multifunction Tester (EVSE version)

Like other products in Fluke’s multifunction tester range, the Fluke 1663 Multifunction Tester (EVSE version)  can perform an impressive array of tests and measurements to Fluke’s habitual high standard’s of accuracy and precision. It is a particularly useful instrument for field electricians because of its combination of straightforward operation and advanced measurements. The Fluke 1663 takes measurements for True RMS AC voltage, insulation resistance, loop and line impedance, prospective earth fault current, tripping speed, RCD/FI tripping current, and earth resistance in addition to performing continuity tests, RCD tests, ramp tests, and continuity tests. The user has a lot of choice for resolution and range for most of the functions as well as a selection of type-options for RCD, RCD-FI tripping and trip speed testing so the Fluke 1663 offers adaptability in addition to accuracy, reliability and precision.

Other features on the Fluke 1663 help the user take advantage of the sophisticated measurement possibilities speedily, simply and safely. Firstly, the device is controlled by a simple dial interface so there are no confusing, in-depth menus and auto-testing for several functions means that only one connection and one button are needed to make certain complex assessments so measurements are both accelerated and simplified. Furthermore, simultaneous measurement save time and reduce room for error, especially as the self-test function reduces manual testing. Similarly, the user measures voltage between L-N, L-PE and N-PE without requiring any changes to connections and ring continuity testing can also be carried out using just soft keys rather than different test leads. For loop testing, Z-max memory helps the user easily identify the highest value in a circuit.

The Fluke 1663 when used alongside an adaptor such as the Fluke FEV300 (available separately),  can perform testing on EV charging stations DC protection devices using the RCD type B (smooth DC Currents) VAR mode. This generators the test currents for RCD type A-EV or RDC-DD acc can test according to IEC 62955 (6/60/200 mA and ramp <2 to 6 mA ramp) safety standards. This allows the operator to quickly and easily perform additional testing of 6mA DC RCD monitors on charging points.

The Fluke 1663 has the safety credentials to go with its excellent measurement and practical qualities as it is rated as Cat III to 500V for overvoltage as well as meeting all applicable national regulations. Dangerous earth voltages are also automatically detected and pointed out to the user. Results are shown on the clear LCD screen and the device is portable, rugged and sealed to IP40 standard. The Fluke 1663 multifunction 17th edition tester is supplied with a hard carry case, a padded neck strap, test leads, a remote control probe, a fused test probe set, a mains cord, a zero adapter, a remote control probe, and a calibration certificate.
