    Fluke 87-V True RMS Industrial Multimeter

    The Fluke 87-V True RMS Industrial Multimeter is a robust, reliable multimeter with the capacity to measure a wide range of variables in industrial contexts. Readings are given for AC/DC voltage (1000V), AC/DC current (10A, 20A for 30s max), resistance (50MΩ), capacitance (9,999µF), frequency (200kHz), duty cycle (99.9%), and conductance (60.00nS). Options for continuity and diode testing are also available whilst temperature can be measured between -40˚C and 260˚C with the supplied thermocouple (-200˚C to 1090˚C maximum range).

    Advanced measurement features build on the Fluke 87-V’s large range of measurement variables. The meter has a unique technique for voltage and frequency measurements on electrically noisy systems and a low pass filter aids voltage and frequency measurement on motor drives. True RMS measurement increases the accuracy of AC readings and the basic accuracy of the device is just ±0.05% so the user can be confident in the values given. Finally, the device boasts peak capture and relative mode to negate test lead resistance. A combination of these factors means that adjustable speed drives can be assessed using just the Fluke 87-V.

    The high-resolution 20,000 count display has both a bar-graph depiction and digital readout of measurement values as well as giving the user the option of min/max/avg recording and auto hold for stable measurements in order to give a true-to-life depiction of system performance. The screen is backlit for work in poor light and readings are very clear. Operation via the dial and push button interface is very easy, even when wearing gloves.

    The Fluke 87-V is supplied with test leads, a type K thermocouple, and an amp jack plug set. It is rated as Cat III to 1000V and Cat IV to 600V and constitutes a quality, versatile multimeter for field use in industrial environments.
