Fluke ii910 Industrial Acoustic Imager

The Fluke ii910 Industrial Acoustic Imager uses an array of high-frequency microphones to detect both leaks in compressed air/gas systems and partial discharge within electrical systems. A dual-purpose instrument, the ii910 builds upon the functionality of the ii900 with its increased frequency range (2-100kHZ) and increased detection range (up 120 meters). Using the onboard SoundSight technology, the device is able to detect and represent subtle sounds at specific frequencies in visual form, highlighting typically undetectable leaks within hoses, valves, fittings and connectors across any pressurised or vacuumed system. The SoundMap of each each space is automatically adapted to ensure background noise is filtered out, making detection easy and providing an accurate representation of leaks.

Partial discharge can pose a range of problems within any electrical system, able to cause blackouts, fires, explosions and arc flashes. With these dangers in mind it’s important to consider detection measures, such as the ii910, to minimise risk to life and potential financial loss from system failure. The Fluke ii910 allows engineers and maintenance teams to perform quick and safe inspections of high voltage equipment, locating partial discharge before it causes a catastrophic event. Using the aforementioned SoundSight and SoundMap technologies, the device can pinpoint instances of partial discharge and superimpose them onto live video imaging, making them visible in real-time to the user.

With storage for up to 999 images and 20 videos of up to 5 minutes in length, the ii910 is convenient for use over extended periods, collecting plenty of material and data. Each imager comes complete with 2 batteries, each providing up to 6 hours of life, enabling you keep one charged at all times and offering up to 12 hours of continuous use. The included LeakQ software package (available for free on Fluke’s website), offers extensive reporting functionality and the ability to share informative imagery and data with colleagues around the globe.

With up to 30% of energy used to power pressurised systems lost to leakage, it’s important to consider the impact on cost that undetected loss of pressure can result in. Loss of power as a result of system breakdown due to partial discharge also poses a similar risk, potentially costing huge amounts for extended downtime. With this in mind, the ii910 is the perfect tool for manufacturers, high-voltage electricians and grid maintenance teams to enable them to detect and remedy a significant threats before they cause costly issues.

Fluke MecQ

The Fluke MecQ allows the Fluke ii910 Industrial Acoustic Imager to detect mechanical issues in bearing and conveyor systems

Many traditional airborne ultrasonic tools offer a single frequency such as 30Khz, using the Fluke ii910 Industrial Acoustic Imager with MecQ sub-modes, operators are able to customise and pre define frequency bands. Filtering and trending of dB level data can also be performed at any frequency level. The MecQ allows users to quickly and easily determine where unusual sounds are located, even sounds out of human range of hearing. Fluke MecQ allows users to powerfully trend dB levels whilst screenshots of a point of interest can be annotated and tagged providing any follow up action or urgency to be documented.

The annotated screenshots can be shared easily with colleagues, allowing for pinpointed areas to be investigated further with any problems investigated and solutions to fix them planned during scheduled downtime.

The risk to team safety can be minimised in hazardous environments thanks to the inspections been conducted without the need for close contact.
