Megger MFT1741 Multifunction Tester
The MFT1741 is Megger’s latest offering and is a noteworthy addition to the long established 1700 series of multifunction testers and electrical installation testers.
This latest tester is perfectly suited to domestic, commercial and industrial applications.
The Megger MFT1741 can perform AC/DC supply measurement, insulation resistance tests from 100V to 1kV, automatic continuity tests, low and high current loop test options together with patented 2 wire low current anti-trip test. The tester will also perform automatic RCD testing from 10mA to 1000mA, RCD ramp testing including the ability to conduct a B type (DC current/high frequency) RCD test, and a basic earth resistance test and it has the ability to store test results into a multi-layer memory and subsequently download using Bluetooth. Please note that Megger Powersuite software is required to utilise the download or Bluetooth transfer facilities.
The MFT1741 has additional features such as the capability to perform 2 pole and 3 pole ART (Attached Rod Technique) and stakeless earth testing. These methods allow testing without disconnection of the earth utility supply. This eradicates the need for supply isolation which often costs the client valuable time and money the method is also consider safer overall.
The Megger MFT1741 offers a wide selection of earth test options opening up previously untapped avenues of installation testing. Both simple and complex electrode and earth rod systems can be tested including:
- Utility pole earth
- Residential earth
- EMI/RFI system earth
- CATV system earth
- Computer and communication system earth
- Antenna and pedestal earth
- Lightning protection systems
- Machinery safety earth

This latest tester fully satisfies Part P and 17th edition guidelines and is perfectly suited to domestic, commercial and industrial applications.
The MFT1735 is similar to the MFT1730 in its ability to perform AC/DC supply measurement, insulation resistance tests from 100V to 1kV, automatic continuity tests, low and high current loop test options together with patented 2 wire low current anti-trip test. The tester will also perform automatic RCD testing from 10mA to 1000mA, RCD Ramp testing including the ability to conduct a B type (DC current/high frequency) RCD test, a basic earth resistance test, the ability to store test results into a multi-layer memory and subsequently download using Bluetooth.
