Megger Torkel 910 Battery Load Unit

Designed for testing switchgear and other battery-powered equipment in high-voltage substations and industrial environments, the Megger Torkel 910 Battery Load Unit provides a safe, accurate way of performing load/discharge testing and thereby measuring a battery system’s real capacity.

The Megger Torkel 910 is suitable for assessing batteries of between 12V and 300V whilst the maximum current discharge is 110A. Further current capacity can be added by linking two or more Megger Torkels or adding a Megger TXL load unit to the circuit.

Object battery systems can be grounded or free-floating and batteries can be tested whilst in service. A DC clamp-on probe (sold separately) measures total battery current whilst maintaining a constant current level.

The user can choose between constant resistance, current and power discharge over impressive ranges or a pre-selected load profile whilst further options are given for features such as the alarm level and and shutdown point.

Safety is an important aspect of the Megger Torkel 910 which has an emergency stop and an input for an external alarm in addition to its internal buzzer alarm. It complies to IEC61010-1:2010 and IEC61010-2-030 for LVD as well as IEC613626-1 for EMC.

Results can be viewed in real time on the 7” digital touch screen and it is also possible to transfer them via a USB memory stick to a computer where they can be edited and printed out as a report.

The Torkel 910 comes with a standard cable set and carry case whilst its impressive measurement ranges for load/discharge testing - combined with robust safety and user-friendly features - make it an excellent instrument for assessing actual battery system capacity.
