Metrel MI3144 Euro Z 800V HV Impedance Tester
The Metrel MI3144 Euro Z 800V HV Impedance Tester is a supplementary tester that can function on its own when controlled via the Android aMESM app or be used in conjunction with various Metrel testers such as the MI3152, MI3155 or MI3325. It is designed to assess the effectiveness of automatic trip out protection in the case of faults in HV equipment such as transformers, generators, turbines, switchyards and distribution boards.
The Metrel MI3144 is capable of carrying out a 4-wire, 300A loop and line impedance test with a high degree of precision as well as a high-range impedance test on 800V / 16…420Hz AC networks. It is also capable of carrying out a source and line resistance measurement in 3 to 260V DC networks in addition to a high-current dR 300A four-wire test for partial voltage drops and current path resistance.
Further test functions include earth leakage relay (ELR) trip-out testing time and current for AC, A, and B ELRs. Ground fault analysis with contact, touch, and step voltage are all available and the Metrel MI3144 also acts as a floating voltmeter for partial contact results.
With a flex and iron clamp, the Metrel MI3144 can perform testing of lightning systems using the one-clamp, high current grounding method and it has a selectable test load (16.6% to 100%) alongside improved thermal performance.
The Metrel MI3144 is specifically designed for challenging conditions as it has an ingress protection rating of IP55 when the case is open and IP65 when the case is closed. It has a Cat IV 600V safety rating and can be powered by an external power supply or the internal rechargeable batteries.
Standard supplied accessories include test leads up to 50 metres, test clips, test probes, a resistance probe, test rods, step voltage plates, a Metrel ES Manager BASIC licence, the Metrel aMESM Android app with a P1102 PRO licence key, a calibration certificate and two carry cases.
By upgrading to the Metrel MI3144 Euro Set, the user can also add further accessories to the purchase including additional test leads up to 75 metres, cable reels, a 42cm current earth spike, a 1-phase flexible current clamp with an extension lead, a Metrel ES Manager PRO licence a jumbo case and a jumbo case mount.
