Metrel MI3210 TeraOhmXA 10kV Insulation Tester

The Metrel MI3210 TeraOhmXA 10kV Insulation Tester is a high-voltage insulation tester that is suitable for measuring insulation resistance in industrial units such as power transformers, transducers, rotating machinery and cables, production line machinery, high voltage generators, and surge arrestors. It is also capable of performing a range of analytical functions involving insulation breakdown.

Test voltages of between 50V and 14.0kV are available on the Metrel MI3210 in 50V and 100V steps and this enables it to measure insulation resistance across a number of ranges from 0.01MΩ up to 20TΩ. Readings are very accurate with a basic accuracy of ±(5% + 3 digits) across most ranges and have a maximum resolution of 10kΩ.

The insulation tester can perform additional measurements such as insulation leakage current (0.00nA to 5mA), dielectric absorption ratio, polarisation index, and dielectric discharge, which allows the user to thoroughly analyse insulation testing results. The Metrel MI3210 can also measure standard electrical parameters such as AC/DC voltage (0 to 100V), frequency (10Hz to 500Hz), and capacitance (20nF to 50µF).

In addition to its wide range of measurement functions, the Metrel MI3210 TeraOhmXA can also detect insulation breakdown and has high EM interference protection in the form of AC current noise rejection and additional averaging. Results are shown on the clear colour touchscreen in both numerical and graphical form.

The user can create their own customised tests and results can be saved to the large internal memory before being downloaded via an RS232 or USB connection, or even via wireless Bluetooth communication. The Metrel MI3210 comes with HVLink Pro software that aids downloading and reporting.

The Metrel MI3210 has a Cat IV 600V over voltage rating and is compliant with all applicable standards. It comes supplied with high-quality accessories including test leads, crocodile clips, mains cable and calibration certificate as well as a set of other accessories.
