The Protimeter MMS2 (BLD8800) is a multifunctional all-in-one moisture surveying instrument. Its compact all-in-one design allows for single handed operation to quantify moisture levels both on and below the surface as well as ambient air humidity.

Featuring two user modes, the MMS2 can be used as both an invasive and non-invasive moisture meter. When used in ‘measure mode’, the instrument uses the fixed two pin electrode in order to assess percentage moisture content (%WME) in a wide range of building materials. When selected to ‘search mode’, the Protimeter MMS2 uses radio frequency to detect moisture levels up to 19mm beneath the surface of a material without destructing the surface; ideal for scenarios where invasive measurement is not an option.

Encompassing an inbuilt infrared thermometer, the MMS2 is capable of calculating the difference between surface temperature and dew point; one of the many features designed to gauge moisture levels in new builds and refurbishing projects alike, whilst also being able to diagnose damp problems in existing buildings.

Furthermore, the instrument incorporates a compact thermo-hygrometer sensor that allows for relative humidity levels to be measured from 0-100%. This data is processed by the MMS2 in order to display a dew point temperature value considered crucial for damp surveying.

Up to 8000 time and date stamped moisture readings can be stored at the push of a button, while up to 6100 readings can be automatically logged when the MMS2 is programmed to do so.

Below is a glossary of the different kit contents:

Hard carry case – moulded carry case with foam cut outs for the MMS and kit accessories

Hygrostick and extension lead – external hygrometer and extension lead designed for high moisture applications such as concrete measurement

Deep wall probes – external probe designed to be inserted into pre drilled holes in order to obtain moisture measurements within solid and composite walls

Heavy duty hammer electrode – external moisture probe designed for obtaining sub-surface moisture measurements of wood. This heavy duty variant is suitable for frequent softwood use and occasional hardwood use

Hammer pins – spare pin electrodes for the hammer electrode

Software and cable – logged results can be downloaded into software for further reporting and tracking moisture levels recorded at different times
