The Protimeter MMS2 Moisture Meter Flooring Kit is a useful kit for those installing and repairing flooring. It is ideal for checking that concrete floor slabs are sufficiently dry ahead of floor installation as it features a Protimeter MMS2 Moisture Meter, humidity sleeves, a brush, humidity sensors, and various calibration accessories.

Protimeter MMS2 Moisture Meter

The Protimeter MMS2 Moisture Meter is an advanced instrument that is capable of destructive, pin-type measurement and non-invasive measurement using an electric signal. A WME range of 8% to 99% is available when using pin-type measurement, whilst a relative scale from 60 to 1000 is available with non-destructive measurement.

Additionally, the Protimeter MMS2 is capable of carrying out surface temperature measurement from -20˚C to 80˚C via a non-contact IR sensor. It has a 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio with accuracy of ±2˚C. It also measures air temperature from 0˚C to 50˚C and humidity from 30% to 99% which in turn allows calculation of dew point and other psychometric factors.

Readings are shown on the Protimeter MMS2’s vibrant colour display. The moisture meter is operated using a simple push-button interface and it has an internal memory that can save up to 8000 readings with time- and date-stamps to its internal memories.

Measurement Accessories

The Protimeter MMS2 Flooring Kit contains a number of accessories to aid measurement. There is a set of five Mini Hygrostick probes that enable the humidity and air temperature measurement functions of the Protimeter MMS2. The probes are easy to interchange in the field and they come with a NIST calibration certificate.

Additionally, taking measurements in concrete is facilitated by a supplied masonry drill bit and that allows the user to drill ¾” holes in concrete slabs. One of the 20 supplied adjustable humidity sleeves can then be inserted into the holes and this allows the user to take humidity readings from within the concrete using a Hygrostick probe with the insertion/extraction tool and extension lead. A wire brush is also supplied for clearing the surface before taking a measurement.

Other Accessories

A range of further accessories in the Protimeter MMS Flooring Kit are supplied to help the user make the most of the Protimeter MMS2’s measuring capabilities. Firstly, a salts calibration test bottle and adaptor allow the probe to be calibrated from a constant 75% humidity. A data cable and software facilitate data downloads and the entire set can be stored in the supplied hard carry case.
