The Testo 330i Smart Flue Gas Analyser is a Testo instrument that uses the proven technology of the Testo 330-2 LL Flue Gas Analyser but also works with the free Testo 330i App for iOS and Android to display readings and analyse results on the user’s smartphone.

The Testo 330i measures a plethora of different variables such as oxygen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, draught, differential pressure, temperature, efficiency, and flue gas loss over impressive measurement ranges. The principal function is the inspection of small combustion systems running off oil, gas, wood or coal; low temperature and condensing boilers; and gas water heaters. 

Additional applications include the regulation of O2, CO, and CO2 in furnaces; draught measurement; regulation and measurement of gas flow pressure in water heaters; measurement and optimisation of gas flow and return temperatures in heating systems; measurement of ambient CO/CO2; propane and methane detection; and work in combined heat and power stations.

Unlike a traditional flue gas analyser, the Testo 330i does not have a screen of any kind but instead connects to the user’s iOS or Android smartphone via Bluetooth. As long as the user has already downloaded the free Testo 330i App from Google Play or the App Store, results will be displayed on the smartphone or tablet which brings several practical benefits.

Data can be analysed on site as the App harnesses your smartphone’s processing power whilst paperless reports and documentation can be created within minutes of carrying out the inspection. The App has an intuitive interface that poses no challenges to the novice user. Furthermore, the remote nature of the display allows one person to monitor readings in real time whilst a second operates the Testo 330i itself, thus improving safety and accuracy. Reports can be saved as PDF documents (including photos), Excel documents or ZIV files.

In terms of practical use, the Testo 330i has a TestoFix probe mount which ensures secure connection for the flue gas probe. The probe can be zeroed without removing it from the flue, thus saving time, whilst the hard, plastic cladding makes the product very durable, a fact that is further supported by its 4-year warranty. The sensors last up to six years and can be replaced by the user.

In addition to the standard Set 1 for the Testo 330i, two more purchase options are available. Set 2 features H2-compensated carbon monoxide and oxygen sensors which improve accuracy and increase CO measurement range from 15,000ppm max to 30,000ppm max (with activated measuring range extension). Set 3 boasts H2-compensated sensors for oxygen, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide.
