The Testo 770-2 True RMS Clamp Meter combines clever mechanical and electrical features to make it an extremely practical, comprehensive measurement instrument. It can measure AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current (including a µA range), resistance, capacitance, frequency and temperature so it is ideal of assessing the health of an electrical circuit. The Testo 770-2 can perform diode and continuity testing as well as Inrush current measurements for assessing current during start up phases. Data hold, True RMS, and Min/Max measurement also contribute to an excellent all-round clamp meter.

The first thing that stands out about the Testo 770-2 is its unique pincer clamp. This mechanism makes it easier to access awkward wiring because the fixed jaw of clamp can be worked in behind a wire before the fully retractable pincer jaw comes up to meet it (watch the video to see this in action).

The other main user-friendly aspect of the Testo 770-2 is the automatic AC/DC and parameter detection that senses whether voltage and current are AC or DC as well as selecting other appropriate parameters, thus making the device simpler to use and helping to avoid errors.
