Thermal imaging cameras are an extremely useful tool for multiple applications across the engineering, motor, electrical, marine and HVAC sectors. We stock a wide range of cameras from FLIR, Testo, Chauvin Arnoux, Martindale and Fluke which vary in thermal resolution, temperature measurement range, and analytic capabilities.
At the lower-spec end of the range, cameras provide a basic thermal image which tend to have a lower resolution and lesser temperature range. Nevertheless they still have multiple applications such as detecting overheating components in electrical installations, finding moisture leaks from HVAC systems, and detecting gaps in insulation in buildings.
Mid-range thermal cameras have greater thermal resolution and more advanced analytic capabilities. Typically, they feature an additional digital camera which can take visual images to go alongside the thermographs to enable easier analysis. There are even FLIR cameras that integrate digital visuals into the on-screen thermograph to create a more true-to-life image. Most of these thermal cameras have large internal memories and even wireless connectivity for simple data transfer.
Finally, the high-spec thermal camera models have specific applications in building surveying. Their extremely high resolutions, excellent accuracy, and large ranges enable them to pick out temperature variations throughout a structure.
