The Tramex CMEX5 Concrete Moisture Encounter X5 is an extremely high quality digital moisture meter with a non-destructive measuring system designed specifically for concrete floors and slabs. Using Gravimetric testing as a baseline, the CMEX5 provides instant and precise quantitive measurements of the moisture content within target areas with a reading range between 0 - 6.9%. For concrete and other such cementitious substrates, the meter provides Carbide Method (CM) equivalent readings alongside comparative readings as per ASTM F2659. The CM measuring range for concrete is 0 - 4.3 while the Gypsum floor screed range is 0 - 12.

Evaluating moisture conditions within slab or screed, the non-destructive method of the Tramex CMEX5 is achieved by measuring the electrical impedance. The material under test via the electrodes in the bottom of the instrument is subjected to a low frequency electronic signal, the strength of which varies depending on the moisture present. The strength of current is determined and converted before being displayed on a large, clear digital display.

Featuring a built-in ambient relative humidity (RH) sensor and in-situ RH / Pin Probe connections, the CMEX5 is ideal for flooring professionals. Compatible with more than 500 wood species, share results with connected smart devices via the internal Bluetooth connection to the Tramex App available for both iOS & Android platforms. Optional Hygrometer Mode and Wood Pin-Probe Mode

Plugging the Tramex Hygro-i2 relative humidity probe into the Tramex CMEX5 instantly shifts the instrument into Hygrometer Mode. This allows for in situ relative humidity testing of floor slabs in line with ASTM F2170 and BS8201, BS8203 Hood Method. The resilient and reusable probe can also test ambient conditions of temperature, mixing ratios and dew point, with a relative humidity range of 0 to 99% and humidity accuracy of ±2%.

Convert the Concrete Moisture Encounter X5 into Pin Mode with the addition of the handheld or hammer probe, with this the CMEX5 becomes a resistance type pin meter which can determine the moisture content of wood or wood based items. Providing readings in a range of 5 to 30%, the meter comes complete with a species table and adjustment chart for ensuring precise readings regardless of varying densities or temperatures.
