Safe Isolation Training Courses

Test Meter provides an informative 4-6 hour safe isolation training course which introduces candidates to the safe isolation procedures set out in the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and HSG85 Safe Working Practices. This includes instruction on the fundamentals of safe isolation and how to correctly use appropriate equipment during safe isolation procedures.

 

Course Overview

The aim of the course is to ensure that staff are able to correctly perform their own electrical isolation procedures on equipment they are maintaining. The syllabus is designed to cover the following topics:

  • Dangers of electricity.
  • Statutory regulations (EAWR 1989).
  • HSE Guidance Note GS38.
  • Practical demonstrations of isolation procedures.
  • Hands on demonstration of safe isolation procedures with candidates.
  • Assessment on safe isolation procedures.
  • Q&As from attendees

All attendees who successfully completes the course will receive a certificate of attendance from PAT Training Services Ltd certifying that the candidate is able to comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.

 

Practical Information

Although the safe isolation course is usually carried out at the customer’s premises, we are happy to arrange a suitable venue locally for an additional fee. Our experienced trainers are happy to work with equipment supplied by the client, but this is not a requirement as we can provide all necessary equipment during the course. In addition, we are also happy to advise on appropriate equipment following completion of the course.

All we require for our on-site courses is an adequately sized, well-lit and quiet space with tables and chairs. We will take care of everything else!
