Protimeter Surveymaster2 Moisture Meter

The Protimeter Surveymaster2 Moisture Meter (BLD5365) is a compact dual mode moisture meter, capable of conducting both invasive surface and non-invasive sub-surface moisture readings.

Using the Surveymaster2 on ‘measure mode’ utilises the attached two-pin electrode on the top of the instrument. This allows for precise moisture readings to be measured at the exact point of contact up to nearly 13mm below the material surface. Numerical values display the moisture content of wood (% MC) or a wood moisture equivalent (WME) for other porous building materials.

When selecting ‘search mode’, the non-invasive pin-less moisture electrode on the reverse of the instrument is used to detect moisture levels up to nearly 20mm beneath the material surface. This mode is not only ideal for use when invasive measurement methods are impractical, but also for where materials may have surface moisture that adversely affect measurements conducted by pin electrodes.

Both user modes present the user with a ‘reference mode’ where a reference or controlled measurement is recorded and compared to readings obtained thereafter. Subsequent recordings either higher or lower in moisture will be displayed and compared alongside the original reference reading. Reference mode is very useful for compiling a moisture map of an area subject to damp in order to see the extent of damage caused by moisture ingress.

Moisture results are displayed on a clear LCD display alongside 60 coloured LED’s that light up green for ‘dry’, orange for ‘at risk’ and red for ‘wet’.

Optional Moisture Probes

The Protimeter Surveymaster has an auxiliary port used for attaching external moisture probes that provide versatility for additional measuring applications (select from above if applicable):

Hammer electrode – this heavy duty external probe is ideal for conducting frequent moisture measurements in softwood or occasional readings in hardwood.

EIFS electrode – suitable for measuring moisture content in External Insulation and Finishing Systems (EIFS).
