The BAUR Protrac Acoustics Set, when used in conjunction with the Baur Shirla, is used for the acoustic and magnetic pin-pointing of cable faults, and offers the user convenient and flexible operation thanks to wireless capabilities in all of the provided accessories. By utilising the latest technologies, finding the fault location is fast and extremely simple, whilst still retaining pin-point accuracy to ensure results can be relied on. With an intelligent sensor, and the ability for long-lasting operation whatever the environment it is being used in, the Acoustics Set is an expert choice for professionals looking to locate faults through acoustics. The BAUR Protrac Acoustic Digital Pinpointing System is designed for precise fault location and cable route tracking. The key component of this system, the CU Control Unit, provides intuitive navigation with both acoustic and visual cues to guide users to faults and along cable routes. The system incorporates 3D operating guidance for increased accuracy in pinpointing faults. The CU Control Unit can be used with or without headphones, as it features a built-in loudspeaker. For safety, the headphones' sound levels are capped at 85 dB(A), meeting the requirements of EC directive 2003/10/EC, ISO 1999:1990, and OSHA 1910.95(c)(1), ensuring hearing protection while using the device. This makes it compliant with established safety standards for noise exposure in the workplace.

The AGP Acoustic Ground Probe

The BAUR Protrac Complete Digital Pinpointing System also includes an AGP Acoustic Ground Probe, which enhances its fault location capabilities. The AGP is equipped with a high-performance piezoelectric sensor that offers long-term measurement stability, making it suitable for continuous use across various environments. This sensor ensures accurate acoustic detection of cable faults over extended periods, providing reliable results even under challenging conditions. One of the notable features of the AGP is its ability to distinguish between the noise generated by the cable fault within the ground and any noise from the cable fault location system itself, ensuring clearer and more accurate detection. The simplified tracing function makes it easier to follow and identify faults, and the probe is supplied with different length contact spikes, which improve its contact with the ground and enhance measurement precision.
