BAUR Protrac Complete Digital Pinpointing System, Acoustic & Step Voltage

The BAUR Protrac Complete Digital Pinpointing System is used for the precise pin-pointing of cable and cable sheath faults when used in conjunction with the Baur Shirla, and provides methods for both tracing and joint location in a system. By utilising the latest technologies, locating the exact fault position is simple and quick, without impacting on the accuracy of results. With an innovative two-level signal processing concept, a high degree of sensitivity and accuracy is achieved, as is the maximum suppression of ambient noise. Any data that is measured and processed is then sent directly to the supplied headphones and control unit through Bluetooth, which is extremely convenient and offers an enhanced freedom of movement. The Complete Digital Pinpointing System combines acoustic measurement with step voltage measurement, and is one of multiple BAUR sets, which are:

The BAUR Protrac Complete Digital Pinpointing System is supplied with a CU Control Unit which provides clear and intuitive navigation to the fault and along the cable route. With acoustic pin-pointing and precise 3D operating guidance to the fault, the CU can be used with or without headphones, thanks to an integrated loudspeaker. The headphones are safety-assured, as they are limited to 85dB(A) in accordance with EC directive 2003/10/EC, ISO 1999:1990 and OSHA 1910.95(c)(1).

The AGP Acoustic Ground Probe

The Complete System is also supplied with an AGP Acoustic Ground Probe, which has a powerful piezoelectric sensor with long-term measuring stability, which is designed for long-term and continuous use in an array of environments. There is a clear distinction between the cable fault noise in the ground, and that of the cable fault location system. With a simplified tracing function and different length contact spikes for better contact with the ground, the AGP offers acoustic measurement.
