Brymen BM878 Insulation Tester / DMM Multimeter
The Brymen BM878 Insulation Tester and Multimeter is a multi-faceted insulation tester that also boasts several electrical measurement features. For measuring insulation resistance, the tester can inject test voltages of 50V, 100V, 250V, 500V and 1000V in order to measure resistance levels from 0Ω to 25GΩ. The multimeter functions of the instrument include AC/DC voltage measurement, true RMS AC/DC current measurement, frequency measurement, circuit resistance measurement, capacitance measurement, and continuity/diode testing.
There are several more advanced measurement features on the Brymen BM878 to supplement its insulation tester and multimeter functions. Firstly, there is a VFD voltage and VFD frequency measurement function for variable frequency drives and the regular voltage and current measurement offers the user milliamp and millivolt ranges for greater precision. A special earth continuity test helps assess the safety level of any appliance whilst temperature measurement from -50˚C to 537˚C is available through the supplied type-K thermocouple.
A clear backlit LCD screen displays readings on the Brymen MM878 in the form of an analogue bar graph and a digital read out. Data hold allows the user to freeze a value on screen whilst min/max recording helps give an in-depth picture of system performance. The user can choose between automatic and manual ranging and it is very easy to operate thanks to its simple dial and push-button interface whilst the protective holster helps withstand the bumps and scrapes of regular use.
The Brymen BM878 is safety-rated as Cat IV 600V and Cat III 1000V and comes supplied with test leads and a type-K thermocouple. The instrument and components are covered by a 12-month warranty.
