The Chauvin Arnoux CA6474 Adaptor for Pylon Earth Measurements is a multi function earth resistance tester and measures earth on pylons. Earth coupling, ground potential measurement as well as continuity/resistance can all be measured. The CA6474 allows for the analysis of the frequency behaviour of earthing systems (41Hz to 5kHz) with a wide measurement range for optimum resolution.

The CA6474 rejects the interference voltages up to 60 Vpeak and automatically calculates the earth coupling coefficient and ground resistivity using the Wenner or Schlumberger method, as soon as the distances used between the rods have been entered. The resistance of the rods RE, RES, RS and RH can also be measured. Users are able to store 512 recordings on the internal memory with communication via optical link and USB

When used alongside the Chauvin CA6472 earth and resistance tester, the CA6474 can be used to offer pylon earth measurements, providing essential diagnostic and maintaining the earthing systems of all types of pylons. Using 4 current sensors (AmpFLEX), that are positioned around a pylons footings and a frequency scan up to 5kHz, it is possible to measure the earth impedance. When using the two devices together, measurements can be acquired for parameters including overall earth resistance of the line, resistance of the pylon under test, resistance of each pylon foot and resistance of the earth cable between the pylons.

The CA6474 is IP53 rated and CATIV 50V and complies with IEC 61326-1 / IEC 61010 / IEC 61557-1-4-5
