The Chauvin Arnoux CA6652 EV Charging Station Adaptor is designed specifically for Type 2 AC electric vehicle charging stations in compliance with IEC 62196-2 and IEC 61851-1 standards. With its compact design, the CA6652 is perfect to use indoors and outdoors (without rain), allowing for rapid and comprehensive diagnostics of charging stations for both BEVs and PHEVs, resulting in a quick diagnosis of EVSE charging station operation.

Technicians are able to simulate various vehicle charging statuses (A, B, C, D) using the Control Pilot (CP) signal and configure cable load conditions via the Proximity Pilot (PP), supporting maximum permissible currents of 13A, 20A, 32A, and 63A. The CA6652 also features illuminated indicators for single-phase and three-phase voltages, as well as a conductive button that detects hazardous voltage on the protective earth (PE) conductor.

The CA6652 includes a fault simulation button that allows engineers to replicate potential anomalies such as CP-PE short-circuits, diode faults, and PE disconnections between the electric vehicle and the charging system, which is critical for ensuring system resilience and regulatory compliance. For in-depth analysis, the CA6652 provides direct access to the CP signal at its terminals, and when combined with the HANDSCOPE II or SCOPIX IV BUS oscilloscopes, engineers can precisely diagnose communication issues between the vehicle and charging station.
