Chauvin Arnoux PEL51 Single Phase Power and Energy Logger
The Chauvin Arnoux PEL51 Power and Energy Logger provides a simple but comprehensive solution for electricians looking to monitor energy consumption. The PEL51 allows for single phase installations and useful measurements such as voltage, current, power values and energy values to be logged and using WIFi to communicate via an access point or server. The aggregated measurements can be recorded over time periods of one minute to one hour on a SD or SDHC card. This data can then be directly read on a PC. Up to 8GB of data can be stored on the SD/ SDHC Card and this can be expanded to 32GB if needed.
The PEL 51 is equipped with one channel for a number of single phase measurements including TRMS voltage and current measurements, and power measurements: W (P, Pf), [JP1] VA and var (N, Q1 and D). With further measurements of PF, DPF and CF taken. With its ergonomic design for single hand use, the PEL51 is easy to handle and fits in one hand. The magnetic casing allows for the unit to be positioned in smaller electrical cabinets.
The PEL51 allows for multiple communication modes for real time monitoring and saving test measurement results using The PEL Transfer software, users are able to back upon data and view and analysis measurements in real time. Using the included MA194-250 flexible current clamp allows for the measurement of the current to be measured without opening the circuit, whilst insulating the user from dangerous voltages in the circuit. The MA194-250 has a measurement range of 300mA to 3,000A.

The backlit multi-display LCD screen allows measurements to be easily read. The PEL51 is rated at 600V CAT III and the casing is IP54 rated protecting the device from dust and water ingress. The unit has a a one hour battery life via the rechargeable battery but can also be self powered with the power supply via the measurement phase (90-690V)
PEL Transfer software
The PEL Transfer software allows for configuration and downloading of data recorded on the PEL 51 to be transferred and stored via WiFi onto any PC. The software allows for instant acquisition operations and the readings can be displayed in table or graph form. Clear dialogue boxes which are easy to use with tabs, the curves can be displayed, saved and exported into .dvb files or into a spreadsheet by the technician to colleagues or customers.
