The EA Technology UltraBolt is an ultrasonic detecting bolt designed to improve the speed, sensitivity, and consistency of partial discharge (PD) testing on switchgear. By integrating a high-performance ultrasonic sensor directly into the bolt, it creates a fixed, repeatable reference point for your UltraTEV® Plus², helping technicians capture accurate readings with minimal setup. All you need to do is simply attach the magnetic reader, take your measurements, and continue with your inspection.

Once fitted to the switchgear enclosure, the UltraBolt delivers increased sensitivity by positioning the ultrasonic sensor inside the equipment. This removes the need for air gaps and improves the clarity of detected signals. Placing it inside also removes user-to-user variation, enabling far more consistent results across routine inspections. With a stable reference point for every reading, teams can trust the data they collect, monitor trends more effectively and make informed decisions about asset health.

Designed for frontline teams, the UltraBolt needs no additional training, as it offers fast, straightforward PD testing that can be carried out confidently by anyone familiar with the UltraTEV® Plus².
