Extech MO50A Compact Pin Moisture Meter

The Extech MO50A Compact Pin-Type Moisture Meter is an easy-to-use solution for taking fast reference moisture readings in wood and other building materials. It has durable contact pins which measures moisture via electrical resistance, giving you clear, immediate results when checking for hidden damp or water damage in floors, under carpets, behind walls, and above ceilings.

Thanks to the high-contrast colour LCD with backlight, readings remain easy to see in both bright daylight or low-light conditions. Intuitive icons and a simple layout remove guesswork, while the audible alert increases in tone frequency as moisture levels rise. This allows for quick, at-a-glance assessments without constantly watching the screen. A handy Data Hold function also lets you freeze readings to review later, improving convenience during inspections.

To support a wide range of applications, the MO50A measures moisture in materials such as wood, plasterboard, sheetrock, cardboard, concrete, and mortar. It offers a wood moisture range of 5.0% to 50.0% and a building material range of 1.5% to 33.0%, with clear low, medium, and high indicators to simplify interpretation. With a maximum resolution of 0.1% and a basic accuracy of ±(3% + 5 digits), it delivers reliable results for quick decision-making on site.

Replaceable 8 mm threaded pins ensure long-term usability, and the rugged design meets relevant standards for shock and vibration resistance. An automatic power-off function helps conserve battery life, while the battery status indicator keeps you informed during operation.
