The Extech MO57A Ball Probe Pinless Moisture Meter offers a fast and non-invasive moisture detection method across a wide range of building materials. It has a spherical pinless sensor that allows you to take reliable readings without marking or damaging the surfaces. Simply glide the ball probe over the area to assess moisture levels instantly. Results appear on a high-contrast colour backlit LCD display for easy display even in low light conditions, while moisture levels are displayed using intuitive icons alongside digital reading. An audible alert that speeds up as moisture levels increases helps you identify problem areas quickly without constantly checking the screen, saving valuable time on site.

The MO57A measures relative moisture content in materials such as wood, plaster, concrete, mortar, wallboard, and cardboard. It offers a measurement depth of up to 102 mm (4 inches), making it suitable for detecting hidden moisture behind walls, ceilings, flooring, and even beneath carpets or tiles. With a wide measurement range from 0.1% to 99.9% and a fine resolution of 0.1%, it provides the detail needed for accurate assessments.

To support straightforward operation, the meter features automatic calibration in open air, a data hold function to freeze readings, and a clear low-to-high moisture indication system. It also includes an auto power-off function after approximately three minutes to conserve battery life, along with a battery status indicator for reliable operation in the field.
