FLIR A400 Image Streaming Thermal Camera (Choice of Lens)

The FLIR A400 Image Streaming Thermal Camera is an entry-level fixed-mount infrared imaging solution designed for industrial automation, process monitoring, and research and development. It excels at identifying issues before they occur, preventing fires, improving quality assurance, and optimising process control.

Precision Imaging & Performance

Equipped with a 320 × 240 pixel uncooled microbolometer and a 17 µm detector pitch, the A400 captures fine thermal details with an accuracy within ±2°C or ±2% of the reading (at ambient temperatures between 15°C and 35°C). It features a thermal sensitivity (NETD) of <30 mK depending on the lens configuration, allowing users to easily detect subtle thermal differences with ease. The A400 has three object temperature ranges: –20°C to +120°C for low- to medium-temperature monitoring, 0°C to +650°C for electrical and mechanical applications, and 300°C to +1500°C for high-temperature industrial processes. This broad spectrum ensures accurate monitoring of everything from delicate electronics to furnaces and heavy machinery.

Lens Configurations

The A400 offers versatile lens options, giving users the ability to tailor their field of view (FOV) and working distance to specific applications. Available lenses include:

  • FLIR A400 Image Streaming 14° Lens (part number: 9190-30401)
  • FLIR A400 Image Streaming 24° Lens (part number: 91901-0401)
  • FLIR A400 Image Streaming 42° Lens (part number: 91902-0401)
  • FLIR A400 Image Streaming DFOV 42° + 24° Lenses (part number: 91912-0401) - Price Available Upon Request

The A400 also features automatic lens recognition, which allows the camera to instantly identify and adjust parameters when a lens is changed, resulting in the best calibration and accuracy. Users are able to select between motorised, one-shot contrast, and manual focus modes based on their operational needs.

Connectivity & Streaming

The A400 is designed for real-time thermal data transmission and system integration. It also supports radiometric and video streaming using the GVSP (GigE Vision) and RTSP protocols. With the use of a  a visual camera accessory, users can stream radiometric IR video at 320 × 240 pixels or visual/IR/MSX® composite images at 640 × 480 pixels. Furthermore, communication and power are managed via a Gigabit Ethernet interface, and Power over Ethernet (PoE) simplifies installation. The A400 complies with GigE Vision version 1.2 and GenICam standards, ensuring seamless integration with industrial imaging systems. It also supports MQTT, REST API, Modbus TCP, Ethernet, and optional Wi-Fi, making it ideal for smart factories and industrial IoT networks.

Environmental Durability

The A400 is rated IP54, however, when combined with protective accessories it can achieve IP66 for dust and water resistance. It works well in temperatures ranging from –20°C to +50°C, with enhanced cooling support for higher ambient conditions, and complies with multiple industrial durability standards, including: shock, vibration, humidity and corrosion resistance. This rugged design ensures the camera performs consistently in production plants, foundries, or outdoor installations.
