FLIR PV78 Solar Irradiance, Temperature Meter with Tilt Sensor

The FLIR PV78 has been expertly designed for solar site surveys, panel installation, and maintenance of photovoltaic systems. Instant measurements can be taken, which allows for the determination of solar (irradiance in watts per square meter) as required by IEC 62446-1 Electrical Safety of PV installations standard. Temperature is able to be measured by placing the meter directly onto a panel, or by connecting an external probe for continuous measurements.

The FLIR PV78 also features a compass which finds the predominant direction, and a tilt function which verifies the inclination of a roof or panel. When used in conjunction with FLIR METERLiNK technology, the user is able to wirelessly connect to the app on mobile devices, which enables instantaneous documentation, reporting, and sharing of results from the field. Solar irradiance can be instantly measured from 50 to 1400 W/m², with the PV78 also able to measure panel temperature.

FLIR METERLiNK App

This product is also compatible with the FLIR METERLiNK® app, which is a powerful tool for professionals seeking efficient remote monitoring and data management. It enables users to connect up to seven compatible FLIR meters simultaneously via Bluetooth®, allowing for real-time tracking of various electrical and environmental conditions. The app's intuitive dashboard displays both graphical and numerical data, including minimum, maximum, and average readings, and allows users to set custom alarm thresholds for enhanced safety and operational assurance.

The METERLiNK app facilitates comprehensive data analysis by enabling comparisons of log files from multiple meters, allowing for effective troubleshooting. Users can generate detailed, customisable PDF reports, and incorporate in data logs, images, and videos, complete with personalised logos and notes. Additional features include dark/light display modes, direct links to FLIR support for troubleshooting, automatic app updates, and text notifications for low battery, disconnected meters, or alarm events. The app is available for iOS® and Android™ devices and is compatible with a wide range of FLIR test and measurement tools that have Bluetooth® connectivity.
