The FLIR VS290 thermal MSX videoscope kit is a visual and thermal imaging unit designed to allow professionals to inspect inaccessible areas in a quick, safe and accurate fashion. The VS290 supports three different probe attachments. Each probe is easy to manoeuvre with impressively small dimensions, 1-2M length and a 57° * 44° IR FOV. Difficult-to-access locations including gearboxes, motors, attics, crawl spaces and electrical vaults can be viewed with ease. By providing access to these troublesome enclosed spaces, the VS290 reduces diagnostic times and drives efficiency.

With options that include a 2MP resolution visual camera and 160 x 120 true thermal imager, the VS290 provides a clear and accurate image of any environment, delivered through a hand-held 3.5 inch/320*340 resolution display. A temperature measurement range of -10 to 400°C and accuracy of ± 3°C (0 to 100°C) or ± 3% (100 to 400°C), combined with a <100mK thermal sensitivity provides the VS290 with a wide range of industrial applications. The unit also sports a cold-spot and hot-spot detection mode, instantly highlighting the coldest or hottest location within the scanned environment.

The colour screen can display in a range of colour pallets including iron, rainbow, grey and colour alarm. The isothermal colour alarm system/pallet allows the user to select specific temperature points as being below or above a desired alarm value, the display then presents the environment using a blue (below alarm value) or red (above alarm value) colour pallet, instantly highlighting any temperatures that may be a cause for concern.

The FLIR VS290 is designed to improve workflow through efficiency and robustness. The field-replaceable probe attachment means that the unit can be disassembled quickly and easily on-site. FLIR 2-10 Extended Warranty

The VS290 Thermal MSX Videoscope Kit qualifies for the extended 2 to 10 year FLIR warranty if your product is registered within 60 days of purchase. Otherwise, the standard one-year warranty will be in effect. The extended 2-10 warranty covers parts and labour for the camera for 2 years and coverage of the detector for 10 years.

Probe Attachment Options

The VS290 is available as a standalone product or with a choice compatible probe attachments. Below is a glossary and comparison table, to ensure the correct choice of probe.

Probe tip shape - Shape of the end of the attachment, where the probe containing the camera unit is located.

Tip diameter - Total diameter of the probe tip at the widest point. This impacts the size/shape of spaces in which the probe will fit.

Probe length - The total length of the attachment with a central flex point.

Tip viewing angle - The angle at which the camera points to the tip. A Forward viewing angle provides a view directly ahead of the probe tip, while a side viewing angle provides a view at 90° from the probe tip.
